Instagram Post Design Task
WhitelistVideo

Thank you for applying! Your task: pick 3 post ideas from the list below and design them as finished Instagram posts. All the text is written for you — your job is the design.

1 · The task

2 · About WhitelistVideo

WhitelistVideo is a parental control app for YouTube. It blocks all videos by default; parents approve ("whitelist") the channels their kids can watch. Our audience is parents of kids aged 8–15 — educated, comfortable with technology, and willing to pay for premium tools.

These short videos show what the product looks like — click to watch:

3 · Brand look

Everything you need is on the brand page: whitelist.video/brand — logo files, color codes, fonts, backgrounds, and examples. App screenshots are at whitelist.video/docs.

Category A · Promotions & offers
01 Launch Discount Banner
PromotionSquare

Visual idea: a discount that looks premium, not like a sale flyer. Make the "40%" beautiful.

LIMITED LAUNCH OFFER 40% off your first year Premium protection for every device your kid touches. [Button] Get started free
02 "Share Your Story" Offer
PromotionPortrait

Visual idea: show the trade visually — record a video, get 3 free months. Two sides, one exchange.

Your YouTube story is worth 3 months of Premium. Record a 60-second video about your family's YouTube battles. We'll give you 3 months free. [Button] Share your story → link in bio
03 Flash Sale — Feed Post + Story Pair
PromotionSquare + Story

Visual idea: urgency through size and contrast, not alarm-red panic. Two deliverables: the square post and the same design adapted to Story format.

48 hours. 30% off. Every plan. Ends Sunday midnight. [Button] Get started free
04 Referral Program Card
PromotionSquare

Visual idea: a simple diagram of the two-way reward — mirrored cards, a loop, or two hands. Design the code like a ticket or coupon.

Give a month. Get a month. Share your code. Your friend gets a free month of Premium — and so do you. [Code] SARAH-4XK2 Find your code in the app
Category B · Seasonal
05 Back-to-School Post
SeasonalPortrait

Visual idea: fresh school-year energy (notebooks, pencils, morning light) mixed with the brand colors — not a generic school sale.

New school year. New YouTube rules. Set the whitelist before the homework excuses start. Ready in 5 minutes
06 Summer-Break Post
SeasonalSquare

Visual idea: sunny and relaxed — kids outside, parent at ease. The product appears as one small quiet element.

10 weeks of summer. Set the whitelist once. Let them watch. Stop watching over them.
07 Safer Internet Day Post
Awareness dayPortrait

Visual idea: more like a magazine page or poster than an ad. The day is the hero; small logo.

Today is Safer Internet Day. For your kid's YouTube feed, we'd like every day to qualify. Free family setup guide — link in bio
08 Holiday Greetings — Two-Post Set
Festive2 × Square

Visual idea: one layout, two holiday versions (pick two: Christmas, New Year, Diwali, Thanksgiving). Same grid and logo position — only the seasonal art changes. Side by side they should look like siblings.

Version A: Merry Christmas from our family to yours. Version B: Here's to a calmer 2027. (small logo only, no button)
Category C · Announcements
09 New Feature Launch — "Block Shorts"
AnnouncementSquare

Visual idea: a big, beautiful toggle switch caught mid-flip to ON. A "NEW" label that feels exciting but calm. Screenshots at whitelist.video/docs for reference.

NEW Block Shorts The endless scroll, ended. One toggle. Free update for all users
10 Milestone Celebration
MilestoneSquare

Visual idea: the number is the art — a crafted numeral, a mosaic of tiny tiles, quiet confetti in brand colors.

40,000 families now choose what their kids watch. Thank you for trusting us with the important stuff.
11 Press Mention / Award Badge
CredibilitySquare

Visual idea: laurel wreath, badge, or large editorial quote. Quiet colors and careful type make it look real. (The press outlet is fictional — that's fine.)

APP OF THE DAY "The parental control app that finally gets it right." — The Daily Tech, August 2026
12 Partnership Announcement
CollaborationSquare

Visual idea: a co-branded post where neither brand dominates and the "×" lockup is the hero. Invent a simple wordmark for the fictional partner — don't spend long on it.

WhitelistVideo × BrightMinds Learning Curated educational channels, approved in one tap.
Category D · Reviews & social proof
13 Five-Star Review Spotlight
ReviewPortrait

Visual idea: one review as a magazine-style pull quote — better than the standard quote-card template every brand uses.

★★★★★ "My 6-year-old asked why YouTube 'got nicer.' Worth every penny." Sarah M. · App Store review Join 40,000+ families
14 Review Wall
ReviewPortrait

Visual idea: 6–8 short reviews as one composition — cards, notes, or bubbles. One review much bigger than the rest as the anchor. Evidence, not clutter.

★ ANCHOR: "The bedtime battles just… stopped." — Priya R. "Set it up in 5 minutes." — Marcus T. "My son watches science videos now. By choice." — Elena G. "Finally deleted YouTube Kids." — Dave W. "The Block Shorts toggle alone is worth it." — Aisha K. "I stopped hovering." — Tom B. "Grandma's iPad is finally safe." — Nicole F. "Wish I'd found this two years ago." — Sam O.
15 Photo Repost Frame (Template)
TemplatePortrait · 2 demo versions

Visual idea: a branded frame we can drop ANY parent-submitted photo into. Deliver it twice with two very different placeholder photos (one bright/busy, one dark/quiet) to show the frame works for both.

FROM OUR FAMILIES @parenthandle "Saturday mornings look different now."
Category E · Engagement
16 Giveaway Post
ContestSquare

Visual idea: prize big, rules as three designed steps (never a paragraph), deadline visible, fine print small but readable.

Win 1 year of Premium — for you and 2 friends. 1. Follow @whitelistvideo 2. Tag a parent who needs this 3. Share to your Story Winner announced Friday, 22 Aug 2026 No purchase necessary. Full rules in bio.
17 This-or-That Poll Post
EngagementSquare

Visual idea: a split frame — two clearly different halves with big A / B markers readable at thumbnail size. Both sides friendly, neither side mocked.

Which one is your house? A: "One more video" negotiations. Every. Night. B: Kid hands the iPad back on their own. Tell us below 👇
18 Fill-in-the-Blank Post
EngagementSquare

Visual idea: a deliberately unfinished design — the blank line is the hero. Near-empty space that feels intentional and warm, with one touch of personality (hand-drawn underline, blinking cursor, pencil).

The one channel I'll always approve for my kid: ____________ Drop yours in the comments 👇
Category F · Brand & product
19 Founder Story Post
Brand storyPortrait

Visual idea: a personal letter, not an ad — typed-page feel, a margin, a signature. Warmer and quieter than everything else. Portrait photo optional (silhouette or desk scene works).

"I built this after watching my own kid fall down a rabbit hole. One dinosaur video. Forty minutes later — content I didn't have words for. I'm a software engineer. If I couldn't keep YouTube safe with the existing tools, what chance did anyone else have?" — Arul, founder Our story · link in bio
20 Premium Product Hero
ProductPortrait

Visual idea: a pure product shot — phone, laptop, or TV showing the app (screenshots at whitelist.video/docs), staged like an Apple ad. Clean light, real shadows, lots of space. At least two devices, same screen on both.

Set it once. Protected everywhere. One whitelist. Every device.
